Steals & Deals: The Over The Knee Heeled Boot

February 3, 2017

Happy Friday! For today’s Steals & Deals I want to discuss one of the hottest trends this season…the over the knee boot. We have seen everyone wear them from the Hadid sisters to almost every fashion blogger out there. I was lucky enough to get a pair of the Stuart Weitzman Highland boots in black suede for my birthday, but not everyone wants to spend that much on a pair of shoes. I have found some other options for all of you that give you the same look, but at a fraction of the cost. These boots from Steve Madden almost look identical to mine and are only $129! Even better they also have a pair in two neutral colors for only $99!!!! Snag those babies while you can at that unbeatable price. Nordstrom right now has an amazing selection of over the knee heeled boots under $200. Now just because these shoes are under $200 doesn’t mean you shouldn’t weatherproof them. I have learned that even if you waterproof your shoes the one thing that will destroy them is the salt that everyone puts on the sidewalks to melt the snow. So if you get that on your new boots that are weather proofed just take a towel or napkin and wipe off the salt. If you do that within 12 hours you should be good to go.  If you are still in the market for a pair it is not too late to get yourself a pair. Head on over now before they all disappear.

Steals & Deals – The Choker Necklace

December 16, 2016

Happy Friday! With Christmas and Channukah starting next week everyone is going crazy to find last minute gifts and I am here to show you something that could help you with at least one person on your list. This season the hottest trend was the choker necklace. We saw every model sporting this trend in all different styles, but a lot of the time these chokers were super expensive. For me I knew that I wouldn’t wear a choker necklace everyday, but I wanted the option to wear it when the occasion suited it. I wanted one that was adjustable as I have a very small neck a lot of the original chokers I liked a lot were too big and looked more like a necklace that just was sitting higher on my collar bone than others. I also wanted an adjustable one because sometimes with chokers even though they look proper you may feel like you are actually being choked by them and you do not want that feeling when you are wearing something for multiple hours. After much searching I found this amazing black velvet choker at Urban Outfitters and it comes in two colors black and maroon. Right now if you buy them separate they are $14 but if you buy both of them it’s only $20! I personally have both colors and they are so easy to wear and fit most neck sizes. Urban Outfitters have a ton of options if you go to their website and a lot of them are having the same deal where you can buy 2 for $20! Now who doesn’t want chokers in multiple colors? Head on over now and get one before they are all gone! Hope everyone had a great week and stays warm during this polar vortex in New York <3

Happy Monday everyone! Even though the first of December was last week, but it officially marks the start of the holiday party season. Other than the ugly sweater party you should always have a few tops on hand for all party occasions. I went into Zara last month and picked up this amazing bell sleeved grey sweater top and when I tell you it’s soft like butter I truly mean it! This top is warm enough to be a sweater, but it isn’t super thick that when you are inside you feel like you are going to overheat. That is one dilemma I have learned from living in New York is yes you need those sweaters for winter, but be prepared to go into a restaurant or a bar where they have the heat turned all the way up. I personally didn’t see this top online so I was surprised to see it in the store as majority of the popular items are also online, but I was pleasantly surprised. The only difficult thing about this top is when you are putting on your jacket. When putting on your jacket you have to hold the sleeves together in order for the top not to ride up to your elbows, but other than that it is perfect. I have since worn this top with black jeans, leather shorts, with a leather skirt tucked in and even a pair of ripped denim jeans. When looking for a holiday sweater top I suggest neutral colors such as heather grey, charcoal grey, black and a medium tone of beige. Those will be the easiest for you to match with a multitude of outfits. Even if you wear the same top multiple times like I previously said I have since paired it with different bottoms and also different shoes and honestly no one can tell the difference. You can also dress it up with some different jewelry and make it your own. Hope everyone had a great weekend and a great Monday. <3
