Tribal Sweater

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a great day so far. This winter I have seen a lot of different trends when it came to sweater patterns, but the one that I am currently loving is the tribal patterns. I got this amazing cashmere sweater from 360cashmere from the Rocky Barnes collection. It is currently no longer available however, there are still some amazing pieces left from the Rocky Barnes collaboration. When looking for a tribal sweater I suggest to try and go with max 3 colors for the pattern part as this sweater is black, white, beige and the actual sweater is grey. The point of tribal patterns is its suppose to be different, but you don’t want it to be too busy that it is almost distracting. Personally all my closet is either black, white or neutral colors this worked perfectly with my wardrobe. This is also why I loved this tribal sweater. If I had purchased one that was colors that I normally wouldn’t wear and too many of them I know that I would probably wear it once then it would sit in the back of my closet the rest of the season. If you aren’t sure if this trend is for you I suggest going to some of the fast fashion retailers and testing out the waters on what you like and don’t like. Velvet Jeans

Happy Monday Everyone! It is the final stretch until Christmas and Chanukah and I personally can not wait to make latkes and eat holiday cookies all week long! Now one of the biggest trends this season was velvet. As a kid I loved the feel of velvet I would always tell my parents that I was petting the velvet item and making nice with it. This season I wanted to find a great pair of Velvet black jeans. I tried on so many pairs and I just couldn’t find one that fit. It was crazy to me because I would try on brands that I knew my size in from previous purchases, but because it was a different material the jeans didn’t fit the same. At one point for one of the brands I tried on a double zero 00 and it still didn’t fit me! I started to become concerned, but finally I found a pair that fit me like a glove. These pair from J Brand are honestly the most comfortable pair of velvet pants. All the other velvet pants felt more like a jegging and just looked slouchy when I tried them on. These fit like a tight fitted jegging in the sense that they aren’t as firm as a jean, but they aren’t as loose as a jegging would get after a few wears. I also love the fact that they are mid rise on the waist because as we all have seen these past few months I am addicted to anything mid rise or high waisted. I will say this that if you are looking for a velvet pant go into the store and try on a few different brands. Don’t just buy online based upon your size. In my other J Brand jeans I was a size larger than I am in these velvet ones. If you are stuck on where to look my suggestion is go to your local Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. Especially right now before the Christmas and Channukah a lot of the stores will be having huge sales and if for some odd reason they do not have your size in the store ask if they can order it for you to be shipped to your home. The Tall Ugg Boot

Happy Monday! Well it’s finally time to break out those winter boots from your closet. Now even though some of us won’t admit it but we all have more than one pair of Ugg boots in our closet. Even growing up in Miami I had a few too many pairs, but now living in New York City you need them! Especially for this cold weather that we are having. This winter if you haven’t purchased a new pair of Uggs recently I think it’s time for you to go out and get a fresh pair. These tall Ugg boots are knee high and like all my other pairs of Uggs are so warm and cozy. These are great with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans. I like how they fit around my leg almost like they are a glove to them. I know sometimes at least for me after some wear the Ugg boots don’t fit as snug around your leg, but these I have had for over a year and they still fit just as snug as the first day I wore them. Don’t forget as with all Uggs except the new weatherproof pair they have come out with they do need to be weather proofed with the Ugg boot spray. I know some people don’t see the need in buying the spray, but I am here to tell you that is well worth your money. You will be wearing these boots all winter long and you want to make sure they stay in great shape. Unlike the traditional Uggs these pair have a stitched in design which for me I think personally makes my legs look longer than they actually are. White Body-Suit: Wolford

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone had a great weekend and is gearing up for Thanksgiving this week! Crazy how the year has truly flown by. One of the biggest trends that I have seen come to fruition the past 3 years, are bodysuits. If you ask my mom she will say she has been wearing bodysuits for years and even got me one while I was in college and I rarely wore it, but now I wear it all the time! There are so many different tops especially during winter that I need to wear a solid tank underneath, but a tank top just doesn’t lay right under some of them and even when you do tuck it into your pants if you are wearing leggings, that isn’t an option, and if you are wearing jeans you still see the shirt and it gives an awkward feeling when you are wearing them. The solution is bodysuits, but for me I prefer the string bodysuits vs the ones that are full coverage. The reason again I say this is because no women wants to have panty lines, but also you don’t want to feel like you are wearing a leotard even more so than you are by wearing a bodysuit. I have also noticed that most of the full coverage bodysuits do not have a snap closure at the bottom so if you are out and need to use the restroom then that is going to be a bit of a project for you. Colored Denim – #50ShadesOfGrey

It’s Saturday night and what’s a girl to wear when it is freezing outside, but jeans? I have been trying to change up my jean wardrobe from the standard denim or black jeans. I have experimented with colored jeans, but when I saw these grey jeans from 7 for all mankind I absolutely fell in love. Now being as short as I am there is always the dreaded time of finding skinny jeans that are cut just right to the point where you don’t have to go to the tailor to get them hemmed. These jeans from 7 for all mankind are the skinny ankle cut and they are a high rise waist and because of them being ankle skinny I don’t need to get them shortened! It is amazing! Sadly, the high rise ankle skinny this season only came in this color because if it came in other colors I personally would have purchased them all. I love the grey of these jeans because they aren’t too dark that they look like a pair of black jeans that just lost its color and they aren’t too light that you feel as if you are wearing them during the wrong time of the year. When you are looking for a great pair of grey denim take a look at the care label. I personally always wash my jeans inside out and then I let them air dry until they are almost completely dry then I put them in the dryer on a low heat for 20 minutes max. This way they aren’t super stiff when you try to put them on. I know some people may think “am I really going to wear grey jeans enough to invest in an expensive pair?” My answer is yes! I honestly didn’t think I would at first, but now they are my go to going out pair. I can pretty much wear them with anything. I have worn them to casual events and even to fancy dinners as well. A great pair of colored jeans styled correctly can go from day to night. Just like how I have it styled here with suede booties and an off the shoulder t-shirt. This is an outfit that I could go out with my friends in and also could even wear to work on a casual Friday. The opportunities are endless. Go out now and buy a pair of grey denim-before you know it all of the sizes will be gone 🙂

The Perfect Leather Skirt

Happy Monday! Now what is a Fall wardrobe without including a great black leather skirt. This black leather skirt is from Alice and Olivia and I am obsessed with it! I bought this skirt 3 years ago during summer right before I moved to New York. My mother always says with certain staple items in your wardrobe they are your investment pieces. She says this because these are the pieces that never go out of style and you will wear from season to season to season. When it comes to looking for a great leather skirt find one that is a solid color, but also one that isn’t necessarily a straight cut. This skirt has pleats in it and also it cinches at the waist. Unlike other leather skirts that I have tried on in the past this skirt gives me more of an hourglass shape, but also with the pleats it makes the skirt look fuller than it actually is. Someone one time even asked me when I wore it out if I had something under the skirt to make it look fuller than it actually was. If you are unsure if you would wear a leather skirt every winter then this season buy a faux leather one and test it out. See how often you wear it during the season and if you find yourself wearing more than 5 times before spring then you should purchase the real deal come spring. Like I previously said I purchased this skirt during the summer before I moved to New York because it was on sale. These pieces are honestly the best to buy during the off season because they get heavily reduced, but if you want one right now just remember that Thanksgiving is just around the corner!! Crazy!
