Bag + Wallet = Perfection!

November 9, 2017

Happy Thursday! I can’t believe that we are already in November it still hasn’t hit me yet. One the hardest things for girls to do when preparing for a night out is to find a bag that can fit everything you need in it. This Louis Vuitton bag the Pouchette Felicie is my new go to bag right now. It comes with two additional items on top of this great bag! There is a small pouch inside with a zipper that I put things in there like hair ties or other things that I don’t want loose in my bag. Then there is another flat wallet that you can put all your credit cards in and also your cash. Since I have the Iphone plus I always have to pick which items to take out of my purse in order to fit my phone. This bag fits everything in it and my phone with room to spare. It comes in a variation of color options, but I choose the classic LV pattern with a pop of a dark pink inside. This bag is also great because you can unclip the chain and use it as a clutch if you want. This is one of those investment pieces that I think is worth every penny. Louis Vuitton is a classic brand that never goes out of style. Click here to head on over to their website to see all the variations of colors they have for this bag. Click Here For the Handbag

On another note I am personally am so excited to go to the Louis Vuitton exhibit in the financial district when I return to New York City after thanksgiving. It tells the whole history of the brand and I have seen videos posted from the museum and it looks AMAZING!  For all of those in NYC bundle up because this weekend looks like it going to be a cold one.

Throwback Thursday – Stan Smith

August 17, 2017

Happy Thursday! Sorry for not posting yesterday, but sometimes since I started using WordPress there are updates that then in turn do something to your actual webpage. The last time this happened I was on the phone with the company that hosts this page for over 4 hours to try and figure out why it wasn’t loading. Thankfully everything now is taken care of and I can now post! There are more and more trends that are popping up that are becoming classic staples in everyone’s wardrobe. The Stan Smith sneaker by Adidas is no exception. In the past few years there has been an almost cult following of the Adidas Stan Smith sneaker. Everyone loves a great pair of white sneakers, but they don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on them. Stan Smith sneakers are relatively priced under $100. Even if you customize a pair on their website unless you select one of their exotic skins the max you will pay for a custom pair should be around $150. They now even come in a variety of colors other than solid white. I personally wanted the heel of my shoe to be black vs the traditional green because I just like the look of it better. If you are looking for a great pair of white sneakers to end the Summer get a pair of Stan Smith’s. Click here on the Adidas link to see their vast selection of styles. FUN FACT! If you are like me and have small feet (I am a 6.5 in women’s) you could probably fit in the children’s shoes, but in the larger sizes. I have done that before for the Nike Dunk sneakers in the past since the kids shoes always had really cute designs. Hope everyone has a great rest of their Thursday! <3

Throwback Thursday: The Denim Jacket

August 3, 2017

Happy #TBT! Everyone always says that in fashion its a cycle and that what’s old is new again. This has always been the case especially this past year. We have seen the resurgence of so many trends that I even used to wear when I was younger. Wow that makes me feel old. One of my favorite trends from middle school was the denim jacket. I still remember the first one my Mom purchased me was a dark denim jacket from Hard Tail. I wore it until it was too short on my arms for me to wear. Even though I tried to convince my parents I could wear it as a quarter sleeve jacket, but they didn’t buy it. While in college my Mom once again found me another great find this Ralph Lauren denim jacket. I totally forgot I even had it until I moved to New York City almost 4 years ago. When looking for a denim jacket I suggest looking at your wardrobe in a whole. I prefer my denim jacket plain without any patches or artwork on it. The amount of times I have thrown on my denim jacket right before I walk out the door recently is through the roof. Even when I am simply going out for a walk with my sweet puppy Stella I sometimes throw it on instead of putting on a long sleeve t-shirt. It’s hard when its early in the morning and its too hot for long sleeves but a little nippy for just a tank top. This is a happy medium!  I know a lot of people have been wearing them super oversized, but for me I prefer mine more fitted. However, if you want the oversized look make sure the arms aren’t too long that you are rolling up the sleeves to the point that it hurts your wrist. If you want a denim jacket with a little more flare you can always purchase your own patches online and put them on a solid denim jacket yourself. It will be most cost effective especially if you aren’t sure how often you are going to wear it. Sadly my denim jacket is no longer available, but if you search retailers such as Zara, GAP and even H&M you will find great ones that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Summer White Top

July 6, 2017

It’s finally Thursday which means one more day until the weekend! Unless some of us took off this entire week due to the holiday. Last summer I was on the hunt for the perfect white top. The problem with a white top especially during summer is even though we all don’t want to admit it, but we sweat. In New York City it gets unbearably hot during the summer and I know that I am not the only one that sometimes takes two showers a day because of the heat. Since it gets so hot its almost impossible to find a white top that doesn’t show that you are sweating through it. I found this top at Bloomingdales on their sale rack with no label just a price tag on it.  Crazy I know that it didn’t have a label but for $25 it was exactly what I was looking for. When looking for a summer white top try to find something that is breathable, but not sheer. This top with its tiered layers and detailing with also the layer of what feels like silk, but I am sure isn’t shows all the amazing details of the top without any sweat marks. I love how it is short enough to look like it is a crop top, but long enough that it covers my entire stomach. When on your hunt for the perfect white top take a picture with the flash on outside the dressing room. I say this because it is a fact that dressing rooms have different lighting and mirrors than what we have at home. Also we have seen it too many times happen to celebrities on red carpets where all the sudden their clothes are now see through. YIKES! If you are like me you don’t mind wearing a strapless bra even during the summer. My other suggestion is to bring or wear a strapless bra when you are out shopping because the last thing you want is to buy a top thinking that it can be worn with a strapless bra and then it doesn’t work once you try it all on at home. Then you will have to go all the way back to the store to return the top or you will just let it sit in your closet forever… If you haven’t already check out some of the major department stores this week. Some of them are still having major sales due to July 4th being on Tuesday. Hope everyone has a great day <3

Wedges Fit For A Summer BBQ

June 29, 2017

Happy Thursday and for some of the lucky few happy weekend! With everyone in the city doing the yearly disappearing act for the 4th of July I wanted to share with you one of my favorite pairs of wedges. These Christian Louboutin called the Une Plume Sling are so comfortable I would walk a mile in them with no complaints. I love the cork detailing especially since most cork wedges don’t have a glossy finish over them. This prevents them from getting ruined and personally make them look brand new every time I wear them. I can not tell you how many times people have asked me if they are new or if I did something to my shoes to make them so shiny all the time. However, Christian Louboutin sadly does not carry them in black patent on their website anymore, but I am sure they do in their stores. They come in a lower height as well if you aren’t too thrilled about them being so tall. I think that for wedges you can never go to tall you just have to make sure that the arch isn’t too steep because otherwise you would feel like you were walking on your tippy toes all night. They are perfect for anything from work to any bbq you will be attending this holiday weekend. If you haven’t already check out the Christian Louboutin website for their new collection of shoes that come in every skin tone that you can imagine. For anyone heading out of the city today please travel safely! The roads / travel always get crazy around the holiday weekend so I am just as happy to stay put in the city with my sweet puppy Stella. How To Add Color To Any Outfit

June 22, 2017

It’s Thursday and that means its one more day until the weekend!!! Now I have said this before, but I will say it again the majority of my closet is black with a little white and very few items of color. However, when it comes to handbags that isn’t the case. A few years ago Gilt was having a major sale exclusive for their app users for brand new Balenciaga bags! Yes you heard that right brand new Balenciaga bags not pre owned. Now it is more common for these flash sale sites to have brand new designer bags at a fraction of the cost but even two years ago that wasn’t the case.

I knew that I wanted to get a red bag to add to my collection. My Mom always told me that if I was going to buy a colored bag to make it red because her Mom always told her that it was for good luck. If you are going to get any bag for a pop color even if you don’t think it will bring you luck I suggest a red bag. My only suggestion is to make sure not to wear a bag like this when their is the potential of bad weather. The worst thing that can happen to you is if your red bag bleeds onto your clothes. That has happened to me way too a few too many times that I don’t want to admit. I think Stella agrees with me on this that this red Balenciaga purse is the way to go. Check out all these flash sales sites in the next month for all the amazing deals and styles that you may not see in stores of all these amazing designer brands.

If you don’t already please follow my sweet puppy stella on instagram @HowStellaGotHerWoofBack <3

Throwback Thursday – Overalls

June 8, 2017

Today I thought I would bring back an outfit that I probably wore on repeat in 4th grade any chance I could. What outfit am I talking about? Overalls! I had my favorite pair of denim overalls that I wore at least once a week to school maybe even more my entire 4th grade year. I still remember my Dad trying to get me to buy a different pair of overalls so I could switch it up and I wouldn’t budge. Finally once they got a hole in them it was time to say goodbye. Recently I have been spotting the trend everywhere from H&M all the way to Bloomingdales. One of my favorite bloggers is WeWoreWhat and when I heard she had created a line of overalls I was desperate to get my hands on a pair of them. I luckily was able to snag two pairs of her coveted Second Skin Overalls including this pair that I am wearing. These are her high waisted black skinny overalls and I am OBSESSED!!! They are so comfortable and fit so well that I don’t want to take them off. Being that I am only 5’2 1/2 (yes that 1/2 of an inch is very important) I always struggle to find things that fit me properly. I always seem to have to take any pair of jeans or jumpsuits to the tailor, but for the first time in a long time I didn’t have to. These overalls fit me perfectly without any need to take them in to a professional. I personally never realized how versatile overalls truly were until now. You can wear these overalls with sneakers, slides, flats, booties, heels or even sandals. The tricky part is finding the proper top to go underneath. For me I have worn body suits under it, off the shoulder tops, crop tops and also tight tanks that tuck in on the sides. The tank that I am wearing is a looser fitting tank from GAP and it is tight on top, but not as tight as a form fitting tank. If you are purchasing from Second Skin Overalls I suggest ordering two sizes. In one of the overalls from a previous collection I was a size XS, but for these I wore a size small. If you are concerned with the $ of these overalls I am here to tell you that it is worth every penny, but if you aren’t sure if you will wear them often check out stores like Forever 21 and H&M for less expensive options. Hope everyone has a great Thursday and is ready for the weekend! <3

National Nail Polish Day

June 1, 2017

Happy Thursday! Also happy first day of June! I personally never feel like it is truly summer until June hits. One of my favorite things about summer is the fact that it is officially sandal weather! Growing up in Miami and then going to school in Arizona I never had to deal with snow and really the cold for extended periods of time. Since I never had to deal with this in the past it was always sandal weather, but now since living in New York City I get excited for the time of year that it really matters if you have a pedicure. This is the time you get to show off your personality with your toe polish and what better way to start summer off with National Nail Polish Day!!! I have been known amongst my friends to be an expert when it comes to nail polishes. There was once a quiz online to name all the names of different brands of polishes and needless to say I got a 100%. Some of my favorite brands include Essie, OPI, Tom Ford and Chanel. I personally wear Essie and OPI more than most because you can buy majority of their colors at your local drug stores. I usually purchase my polishes after one wear of them because 1. I want to make sure that I like it and 2. If I mess up my nails or chip them I can fix it on my own without having to go back to the nail salon. During summer I love to wear the lighter colors like Essie – Fiji, Essie – Go Ginza, OPI – Why Can’t We Be Friends and OPI – Alpine Snow. Also its not a rule that you have to match your toes to your hands. I always do a gel polish on my hands except for the off week that I put the nail strengthener on so it never truly matches the normal nail polish colors. Go out now and get a bottle of nail polish and help celebrate National Nail Polish Day with a fresh manicure and pedicure. <3

Mother’s Day Week – Bucket Bag

May 11, 2017

Happy Thursday! I think all fashionistas can agree that one of the major brands to come out in the past few years is Manusr Gavriel. When they first came out their bags would sell out immediately and it sometimes took over 2 months for them to come back in stock. Bucket bags have been in style for years and Mansur Gavriel has brought them back from the dead. My Mom has a custom green bucket bag that she had made over 30 years ago on her honeymoon and it still looks brand new! If your Mom this holiday has been lusting over a new bag this is a  great one for her. My Uncle’s got me the mini bucket bag for my birthday this year and I am obsessed with it. The regular bucket bag is significantly bigger and comes with a small pouch as well, but I personally didn’t want a huge bag to carry around on a daily basis. I did try on the mini mini bucket bag and yes my Iphone 6s Plus fit inside the bag, but not much else did. I personally would get my Mom the bucket bag, but in black with silver interior or the navy. This bag is so elegant and yes because of the kind of leather it does get scratched up easily, but honestly all bags get marks on them eventually over time. Just as long as you take care of your bag and put it away properly you won’t have any problems. I am stickler for putting my bags back in their purse bags they come in and I would especially do it for this bag as well so it doesn’t get any additional scratches in your closet. If you don’t think your Mom would like the bucket bag another popular style that has been seen multiple times on Gigi Hadid is the Lady Bag. It comes with a long strap which is nice if you want to wear it cross-body while walking. Check out their website now and order before it’s too late! They also are carried on other retail website and in some select stores. <3

Throwback Thursday: Night Out Outfit

April 6, 2017

Happy Thursday! In the spirit of it being throwback Thursday I thought I’d post some of my favorite shots from my first photo shoot with my sweet puppy Stella. Again if you don’t follow her already please follow her on instagram @HowStellaGotHerWoofBack. I still look at these pictures and can’t believe how small she once was. She really has grown up <3.  In New York City right now it is very gross and rainy out, but it still not warm enough yet outside to fully switch my closet over to summer. Yes you heard me right I do switch my closet over from season to season. Most people that live in New York store all of their clothes from season to season. Otherwise it would take up too much valuable closet space. However, there are some pieces that I always keep out just incase there is a random cold night. To me the perfect night out outfit consists of a great pair of booties, jeans and a good simple top. Well right now it also consists of a black leather jacket, but that’s a whole other subject. The top that I am wearing is a lightweight long sleeve shirt that can be worn even when it gets a little warmer out so it is an all season shirt. Being from Florida I get cold very easily even when it’s barely cold out in New York City I always seem to throw on a jacket. I am trying to get better at that because at the end of the night I end up carrying my jacket home with me.  If you are still wrestling with what to start putting away these are items that I wouldn’t put away at all. I hope everyone in New York City is staying dry and enjoying these last few days of a little bit of cold weather. Have a great day everyone <3
