Tuesday Shoesday / Steals & Deals – Dolce Vita

Happy Tuesday everyone! With Labor Day weekend approaching this is the best excuse to break out your best shoes to celebrate the final weekend of Summer 2017. Crazy to think that is Summer is almost officially over and Fall is just around the corner. Since last year I have officially become a sneaker junkie. I have come to love sneakers as my in between shoes when it’s too cold to wear sandals outside, but not cold enough to wear booties. My Mom as I have told you all before is my go to when it comes to finding amazing items at a fraction of the price. For a very special #tuesdayshoesday I have a steals & deals just for all of you. A lot of high end designers are making sneakers with glitter into their collections including Gucci and Golden Goose Deluxe Brands. However, even though I love a great pair of sneakers I don’t necessarily know how often I would wear a full on glitter pair. For this reason I wasn’t willing to spend $500+ on a pair of sneakers that I don’t see myself wearing more than once in a blue moon.  My Mom told me about this amazing website Lori’s. Lori’s based in Chicago similar to Jildor sell multiple brands on one site. Sometimes I have gone to sites such as Lori’s when big box retailers are sold out of sizes and sometimes have color options that they may not necessarily carry. These glittery Dolce Vita sneakers are $99.95 on Lori’s website right now! A test I always do on glitter sneakers is to brush my hand across them and see if any glitter rubs off on my hands. The last thing that you want is for glitter to get all over your clothes. We all know that glitter is the absolute WORST thing to get anywhere especially your clothes. It is almost impossible to get it off completely. I can still see some glitter on my bedroom floor in Miami after spilling some from a school project. These shoes I will say leaves no glitter behind. I also love the suede pink detailing and leopard fur on the back of the shoe. They are so comfortable which I was surprised with because I thought with all the glitter they would be too stiff and cause so many blisters on my feet. Tuesday Shoesday – Stuart Weitzman

Happy Tuesday! Instead of #FitnessTuesday I have decided for the rest of this month I am going to be focusing on my love for shoes. A few years ago I showed my Mom an image of Kourtney Kardashian wearing these unreal snakeskin gladiator sandals by Stuart Weitzman. I was OBSESSED with them to the point my Mom asked me to stop sending her pictures of everyone on the internet wearing them. She didn’t believe me that they would look good on me for the fact that I am short, but I pointed out that Kourtney Kardashian is as short as I am. Most tall gladiator sandals don’t always fit my leg they either are too short or come above the knee. I tried them on anytime I saw them in the store only to be sure of my size, but also in hopes my Mom would agree that they looked so cute on me. Finally one day my Mom called me about a year after I showed her the initial picture asking me if I still wanted the shoes. I froze and immediately said yes! She found them on Jildor’s website for over 75% off!!! She then asked me for my size which thanks to the many times I tried them on in the store I knew :-). I also tried them on so many times in the store because of the calf part of the shoe. Even though I do work out my legs aren’t as muscular as other people and sometimes this has stopped me from purchasing a pair of shoes. There were other gladiator sandals that Stuart Weitzman came out with that were solid and they did not fit me around my calf muscles. Thankfully these have adjustable straps around the legs so that helps with anyone who may not have the most muscular legs. Sadly these aren’t available anymore on their website, but there a lot of great retailers that have some of their amazing gladiator sandals on sale right now! Tuesday Shoesday – Birkenstock

Happy Tuesday! Can you all believe it is already August 1st? Crazy how quickly the summer has gone by. Sorry that I have been so MIA this past month. I have been traveling and working on ways to make Just Jodi Style better. I am back now and ready to give you all amazing new content. Since last year I  have been looking for a pair of metallic sandals like a pair I had in high school to be my new it summer sandal. I had seen that Birkenstock had made metallic sandals and even a classic all white pair last year, but I could never find my size. I have very thin fit so sometimes even though the shoe may fit length it wont’ fit around the top of my foot. The amount of times that I have been searching for a shoe to finally find it to have it not fit me properly is more than I would like. When I saw these rose gold Birkenstock sandals I immediately tried to find my size. I searched for months and months and because I wasn’t sure what size I needed I was looking for two sizes. I put my name on countless waitlists to then finally find it on Amazon in a size 6.5. Sadly, there was too much room around the top of my foot even on the tightest buckle. Then I was back on the hunt! Finally Zappos emailed me that they had them in a size 6 the only difference was the bottom of the shoes were black instead of white. I honestly preferred the black bottom because with walking around the streets of Manhattan white shoes get dirty pretty quickly.  The size 6 came and they fit PERFECTLY! They are so comfortable and I love the rose gold coloring on them. The last time I owned a pair of Birkenstock’s I was at sleep away camp. The main reason I purchased them back then was to avoid having to put on real shoes for morning line up. Don’t tell me that I was the only one that did that. If you were looking for these sandals like I was head on over to Zappos right now before they are all gone! They have them now with both the black and white bottoms so you can now take your pick. Steals & Deals: Alexander Wang Slides

Happy FRIYAY! Today’s Steals & Deals is all about the shoe of the summer. One of my favorite slides that I have seen almost every blogger wear are the Alexander Wang – Amelia slides. I have seen them in also a heeled version with open toes, but I think the slides are just perfect for summer. They are super cute and I love the caged detailing on them. However, the price tag for these shoes are a little pricey for me especially since I feel like this style may just be the style of the summer. I have been searching high and low for a less pricey option so I can get my shoe fix without spending too much. My friend Erika found the answer! Forever21 has a similar pair on their website for only $28!!! Now I think that is much better than spending $595 don’t you? The one thing I will tell you before purchasing them is to buy a size down maybe even a size and a half down depending on how wide your feet are. I am normally a 6.5 sometimes a 7 depending on the shoe, but with these shoes I order a 6.5, 6 and even a 5.5. After trying all the shoes on the 5.5 was the winner and fit me the best out of all of them. I have not seen them in any of the Forever21 stores so head on over to their website now and purchase them before they are all gone. They come in both silver and a beige color, but the only problem is if the shoe doesn’t fit you can only return them via the mail and not in store. When I bought them they only came in the beige color and now I am currently purchasing a silver pair for myself.  I just couldn’t help myself. Wedges Fit For A Summer BBQ

Happy Thursday and for some of the lucky few happy weekend! With everyone in the city doing the yearly disappearing act for the 4th of July I wanted to share with you one of my favorite pairs of wedges. These Christian Louboutin called the Une Plume Sling are so comfortable I would walk a mile in them with no complaints. I love the cork detailing especially since most cork wedges don’t have a glossy finish over them. This prevents them from getting ruined and personally make them look brand new every time I wear them. I can not tell you how many times people have asked me if they are new or if I did something to my shoes to make them so shiny all the time. However, Christian Louboutin sadly does not carry them in black patent on their website anymore, but I am sure they do in their stores. They come in a lower height as well if you aren’t too thrilled about them being so tall. I think that for wedges you can never go to tall you just have to make sure that the arch isn’t too steep because otherwise you would feel like you were walking on your tippy toes all night. They are perfect for anything from work to any bbq you will be attending this holiday weekend. If you haven’t already check out the Christian Louboutin website for their new collection of shoes that come in every skin tone that you can imagine. Gianvito Rossi- Most comfortable shoe according to Eva Chen

The other day I came across an article from “Who What Wear” that quoted Eva Chen saying that Gianvito Rossi shoes are the most comfortable heels in existence. I then went into my closet and realized that one my favorite pair of shoes is by this designer and I couldn’t agree with Eva more! I wore these lace up black leather shoes to one of my best friends engagement parties last year and the moment I posted a picture of me wearing them on social media the attention I got was overwhelming. I wore them for over 4 hours that evening and at the end of the night I took them off without one single blister and my feet didn’t even feel swollen or anything. Normally when I buy a pair of new heels, especially ones I am going to wear for a special event, I try to break them in prior to that evening to avoid any problems with my feet afterwards. Unlike other shoes my normal techniques for these shoes didn’t work. Since they are lace up I couldn’t put on a pair of thick socks to break them in without potentially stretching them out. Instead I put on a very thin pair of KB socks from costco and wore them around my apartment the entire week prior. I know it may sound silly but even just sitting on my couch with them was helpful because my feet got used to the shoes and  molded to my feet. I know what a lot of you are thinking “of course the most comfortable shoes are super expensive,” but my mom found these shoes on Neiman Marcus last call at the end of the season and they were a steal! I know I say this a lot, but check all of these sites like Neiman Marcus Last Call and Saks Off Fifth for amazing deals on designer gear.
