Steals & Deals: Stripped off the Shoulder

Happy Friday! This weekend it is a full household in my apartment. I am watching one of my best friends puppies Stanley a cockapoo that is under 6 months old. Stella is getting adjusted to not having all of my attention, but so far so good! Once a month I get emails with additional mark downs from different retailers. The one retailer that I have found the best markdowns recently is Saks Off Fifth. One of the biggest trends of summer that I have seen so many people wear are button down shirts, but not the traditional way we are used to seeing. I found this pink button down off the shoulder top with a front tie by Romeo & Juliet for only $34.99! It is so comfortable and easy to wear despite the fact that I need to wear a strapless bra with it. I love how the sleeves are not the traditional cuffs that you see on button down shirts. I also ordered this top in black and white as well. I personally ordered a size small and I’m glad I did. Otherwise It would be too tight on me that I wouldn’t be able to lift my arms if I took it any smaller. One thing I will say about Saks Off Fifth is they have a policy for shipping. If your item doesn’t ship within a certain time frame they will cancel your order. Even if the item is still available online they will cancel it. This happened to me with my order of these two tops, but upon calling their customer service they promptly re ordered me the items and found them the same day to ship them to me overnight for FREE! Saks Off Fifth has recently opened up an actual store in New York City and it is AMAZING!!! If you aren’t that big into online shopping head on over to their store in Midtown right now! Steals & Deals: Alexander Wang Slides

Happy FRIYAY! Today’s Steals & Deals is all about the shoe of the summer. One of my favorite slides that I have seen almost every blogger wear are the Alexander Wang – Amelia slides. I have seen them in also a heeled version with open toes, but I think the slides are just perfect for summer. They are super cute and I love the caged detailing on them. However, the price tag for these shoes are a little pricey for me especially since I feel like this style may just be the style of the summer. I have been searching high and low for a less pricey option so I can get my shoe fix without spending too much. My friend Erika found the answer! Forever21 has a similar pair on their website for only $28!!! Now I think that is much better than spending $595 don’t you? The one thing I will tell you before purchasing them is to buy a size down maybe even a size and a half down depending on how wide your feet are. I am normally a 6.5 sometimes a 7 depending on the shoe, but with these shoes I order a 6.5, 6 and even a 5.5. After trying all the shoes on the 5.5 was the winner and fit me the best out of all of them. I have not seen them in any of the Forever21 stores so head on over to their website now and purchase them before they are all gone. They come in both silver and a beige color, but the only problem is if the shoe doesn’t fit you can only return them via the mail and not in store. When I bought them they only came in the beige color and now I am currently purchasing a silver pair for myself. I just couldn’t help myself. The Fringe Bootie

Happy Thursday!!! Hope everyone is all ready for the holidays this weekend and if not do not head to a mall! I went to one this morning just to go to SoulCycle and it was a ZOO! If you have to do any last minute shopping my suggestion is to do it online. Last year I found these amazing fringe suede booties from Kate Spade New York and since suede is one of the biggest winter trends this year I have been wearing them non stop. They are so comfortable and easy to wear that I wanted to buy it in other colors. Since this shoe is a year old I was curious to see if they even still made it at all. To my luck Saks Off Fifth has it on their website in Tan- Gold, Cognac, Grey and Maroon for only $71.98!!!! I know I normally post Steals & Deals on Friday’s, but this deal was just too good not to post today. They run true to size, but if you like to wear a thick sock during the winter then buy a size up. I personally bought a 6.5 and it still fits with my winter sock, but I know that some people wear thicker socks than I do for the winter so take that into consideration. I also love that the bottom of the shoes are rubber because even when it was snowing the other day in New York City I was able to wear these outside without the fear of tripping and falling. I did weather proof them before wearing them as I do all my shoes I wear during the winter so don’t forget to do that as well prior to wear. Leather Leggings

Happy Saturday Everyone! Now, when you have worn those black pair of jeans for the 50th time this season you ask yourself “is there another option tonight other than wearing another pair of black jeans?” The answer is: yes, there is! A lot of designers over the past few years have started to make leather pants or faux leather pants for those of us that don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on them. The pair that I am wearing is from Paige denim and the front of the leggings are leather and the back are a stretchy thick legging material. For me every time I think of full leather pants I think of that episode of Friends where Ross decides to purchase a pair and then can’t get them back on during his date with a girl. That is literally my worst nightmare, but these have the best of both worlds. They have the comfort of a legging but then they have the edgy look of leather on top of it. These are a few years old, but there are other designers that have made similar pairs recently. If you are interested in getting a pair of leather leggings here are my suggestions. If you don’t want it to look like leggings, opt for a pair that at the waist they have belt loops to make it look like they are leather pants. Second, if you are going for a faux pair try them on in store or just find them in the store even if you know your size. Some faux leather leggings are great price wise and may look great pictured online from the different online retailers, however, when you get them in the store or in the mail if you are ordering online they don’t have the same shine to them as you thought. I personally bought a pair from Amazon recently and when I got them in the mail they looked almost identical to the shiny pair of leggings that I purchased in the past from American Apparel, but the pair from American Apparel were double the price! Thankfully the pair I purchased was returnable, but I have had so many friends that purchased pairs from the fast fashion website like Gilt and Ruelala and they were not returnable so now they are sadly stuck with them. Remember also, if it is a legging it will be more comfortable to wear in general because leather pants don’t have much give in them so if they are tight on you now then they will continue to be tight on you forever.
