Mother’s Day Week – Bucket Bag

May 11, 2017

Happy Thursday! I think all fashionistas can agree that one of the major brands to come out in the past few years is Manusr Gavriel. When they first came out their bags would sell out immediately and it sometimes took over 2 months for them to come back in stock. Bucket bags have been in style for years and Mansur Gavriel has brought them back from the dead. My Mom has a custom green bucket bag that she had made over 30 years ago on her honeymoon and it still looks brand new! If your Mom this holiday has been lusting over a new bag this is a  great one for her. My Uncle’s got me the mini bucket bag for my birthday this year and I am obsessed with it. The regular bucket bag is significantly bigger and comes with a small pouch as well, but I personally didn’t want a huge bag to carry around on a daily basis. I did try on the mini mini bucket bag and yes my Iphone 6s Plus fit inside the bag, but not much else did. I personally would get my Mom the bucket bag, but in black with silver interior or the navy. This bag is so elegant and yes because of the kind of leather it does get scratched up easily, but honestly all bags get marks on them eventually over time. Just as long as you take care of your bag and put it away properly you won’t have any problems. I am stickler for putting my bags back in their purse bags they come in and I would especially do it for this bag as well so it doesn’t get any additional scratches in your closet. If you don’t think your Mom would like the bucket bag another popular style that has been seen multiple times on Gigi Hadid is the Lady Bag. It comes with a long strap which is nice if you want to wear it cross-body while walking. Check out their website now and order before it’s too late! They also are carried on other retail website and in some select stores. <3

Steals & Deals: The Over The Knee Heeled Boot

February 3, 2017

Happy Friday! For today’s Steals & Deals I want to discuss one of the hottest trends this season…the over the knee boot. We have seen everyone wear them from the Hadid sisters to almost every fashion blogger out there. I was lucky enough to get a pair of the Stuart Weitzman Highland boots in black suede for my birthday, but not everyone wants to spend that much on a pair of shoes. I have found some other options for all of you that give you the same look, but at a fraction of the cost. These boots from Steve Madden almost look identical to mine and are only $129! Even better they also have a pair in two neutral colors for only $99!!!! Snag those babies while you can at that unbeatable price. Nordstrom right now has an amazing selection of over the knee heeled boots under $200. Now just because these shoes are under $200 doesn’t mean you shouldn’t weatherproof them. I have learned that even if you waterproof your shoes the one thing that will destroy them is the salt that everyone puts on the sidewalks to melt the snow. So if you get that on your new boots that are weather proofed just take a towel or napkin and wipe off the salt. If you do that within 12 hours you should be good to go.  If you are still in the market for a pair it is not too late to get yourself a pair. Head on over now before they all disappear.

Throw Back Thursday

January 19, 2017

Happy Thursday! Today I just wanted to post some throwback pictures to one of my first shoots for the blog. I have learned a lot about shooting since the first time. It is also crazy to look at these pictures and see how much Stella has grown. Hope you all are having a great day!

The Grey Sweater With Bell Sleeves

Happy Monday everyone! Even though the first of December was last week, but it officially marks the start of the holiday party season. Other than the ugly sweater party you should always have a few tops on hand for all party occasions. I went into Zara last month and picked up this amazing bell sleeved grey sweater top and when I tell you it’s soft like butter I truly mean it! This top is warm enough to be a sweater, but it isn’t super thick that when you are inside you feel like you are going to overheat. That is one dilemma I have learned from living in New York is yes you need those sweaters for winter, but be prepared to go into a restaurant or a bar where they have the heat turned all the way up. I personally didn’t see this top online so I was surprised to see it in the store as majority of the popular items are also online, but I was pleasantly surprised. The only difficult thing about this top is when you are putting on your jacket. When putting on your jacket you have to hold the sleeves together in order for the top not to ride up to your elbows, but other than that it is perfect. I have since worn this top with black jeans, leather shorts, with a leather skirt tucked in and even a pair of ripped denim jeans. When looking for a holiday sweater top I suggest neutral colors such as heather grey, charcoal grey, black and a medium tone of beige. Those will be the easiest for you to match with a multitude of outfits. Even if you wear the same top multiple times like I previously said I have since paired it with different bottoms and also different shoes and honestly no one can tell the difference. You can also dress it up with some different jewelry and make it your own. Hope everyone had a great weekend and a great Monday. <3

Ray-Ban: Foldable Aviators

April 19, 2016

160320-ASHarris-Jodi_Style-8213-LOOK6

Hi Everyone! First I want to apologize for not posting yesterday I am currently in California until the end of this month for one of my oldest friends’ weddings and one my good friends bachelorettes so all the activities got the best of me this weekend.  Today I wanted to talk about sunglasses and not just any sunglasses but foldable sunglasses. I am one of those people that always seemed to, some way or another, break my sunglasses on multiple occasions. While I am traveling, I  hate to carry the big bulky sunglass cases so I would try and use a soft case for my sunglasses but that was always when I seemed to break them. My brother came home one spring break and showed me his amazing foldable Ray-Ban “wayfar” sunglasses that he got and he also showed me the slim case that it came with. The case for them is so small it even fit nicely in his shorts pockets.  That summer I was going to Israel with him and I did not want to break another pair of sunglasses again. When I went into my local eye-glass store I was pleasantly surprised that the foldable Ray-Ban’s also came in the aviator style! My brother was also happy because he didn’t want me to buy a matching pair ☺ . It has not even been 3 years later and I still have my foldable Ray-Ban aviators and I will not travel without them. They of course, like any pair of sunglasses, have a few scratches here and there, but other than that I have no issues with them. Today they have more options for foldable pairs on the Ray-Ban website and you can even customize your own pair! I highly suggest if you are looking for a great pair of sunglasses to have in your bag whether you are traveling or just looking for a great everyday pair you should invest in a pair of foldable Ray-Ban’s ASAP!
