Oscar 2017 Round Up

February 27, 2017

Happy Monday! Last night was The Academy Awards hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. I knew that there were going to plenty of jokes between him and Matt Damon. If any of you have been living under a rock they have had a “feud” going on for some time now, but on top of that there were some major highlights from the show. From the opening with Justin Timberlake and I don’t know if you all saw him dancing with his wife in the aisles it was the most adorable thing to the final award of the night. I personally turned the TV off after it was announced that LaLa Land won best picture. Then I woke up this morning to find out that we had another Steve Harvey incident where the wrong winner was announced #awkward! No fear though everyone was still all smiles and happy for one another. Here are some of my favorite fashion moments from the night.

Leslie Mann looked every bit the movie star even being compared to Belle from Beauty And The Beast in this Zac Posen number. I love her and her husband who are celebrating almost 20 years together! They show us that true love does exist in Hollywood.

Now Janelle Monae….What can I say but WOW! Little did I know until this morning that her Eli Saab gown’s train was detachable! Yes you heard me right! However, I think the train makes the outfit that much more special. She looked absolutely stunning.

Another stunner was Jessica Biel. In her form fitting Kaufman Franco gown with a stunning Tiffany & Co. necklace on top of it. At first glance when I saw her I said to my friend Lindsay who I was watching the show with if the necklace was part of the dress. We both thought it was until someone asked her who she was wearing and then she added that her jewels were Tiffany & Co. As I previously said her and her husband Justin Timberlake were one of my favorite couples of the night #couplegoals.

Now my girl Emma Stone. Excuse me Oscar winner Emma Stone looked absolutely perfect! There is not one thing I did not love about her look last night by Givenchy. I can imagine that her gown did weight a great deal with all of that beading and detail, but you wouldn’t know based on how she carried herself with such grace. Emma looked every bit the part of an Oscar winner which she now is.

What did you all think of last night’s Oscars? I think Jimmy Kimmel did a great job despite everything that happened. Can we now ask Ellen to come host again? Happy Bachelor Monday everyone who watches and hope you all have a great day <3

Best Dressed From The Grammy’s

February 13, 2017

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend and for those of you in New York City stayed warm and dry especially yesterday with all the gross rain / slush / snow we had yesterday. Last night was the Grammy’s and let’s just say that the entire show was unreal! From Adele opening the show to James Corden having Blue Ivy crash the carpool karaoke of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” there wasn’t a moment of the show that I didn’t enjoy. Last night there of course were some fashion hits and misses. Here are some of my favorite fashion looks from last night. I hope you all had a great Monday and for those of you like myself who watch The Bachelor on ABC let’s see what Corrine has in store for us this evening <3

All Black Outfits Accepted <3

February 6, 2017

Happy Monday! Hope everyone is having a great day so far and recovering from the Super Bowl madness yesterday! I still can’t believe what happened. If you didn’t watch the game spoiler alert the Patriots won. I would like to mention that the Miami Dolphins are still the only team to go an entire season undefeated and that includes winning the Super Bowl that year :-). Just saying.. Anyways recently I have noticed more so than not especially during the winter I stick to my basic outfits. However, I was always curious if people thought that because I was normally wearing all black that there was something wrong with me. I am here to tell you that it is perfectly normal to wear all black. My best friend Tess whenever I ask her what she is wearing she says I am wearing some black on some black on some black you know the usual. I personally think if you are concerned that you are always wearing all black all the time then switch up some of the pieces to be different textures. For example in the image today I am wearing black jeans and then a black top underneath then a black leather jacket. The leather jacket made my look different and changed up me constantly just wearing solid black. I have also worn black suede pants with a black top and no one noticed that I was wearing all black, but they did notice my suede pants. Do you think that it’s acceptable to wear all black all the time? Comment below and let me know what you think. <3

SAG Awards 2017 – My Top 3 Fav Looks From Last Night

January 30, 2017

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend and are having a relaxing Monday so far. Last night award season continued with the SAG Awards and let me tell you there was some hit and misses with the fashion. Some of the looks that didn’t bother me so much, but according to the fashion police they were not great.

Emma Stone once again killed it on the red carpet. Wearing Alexander McQueen she looked like the movie star that she is. At first look I wasn’t sure how I felt about it being sheer with the lace detailing, but upon closer look at the dress it was perfect. Her acceptance speech was a great reunion of Superbad don’t know if anyone else caught that. I can’t wait to see what she wears to the Oscars because I know she is going to look amazing again.

Kerry Washington in my book can do no wrong. Even last year with her crop to while pregnant honestly I said to my mom on the phone that she can make even pregnancy look fabulous. She stunned in this Roberto Cavalli dress and it had me thinking Olivia Pope with the white hat killing it. I know that everyone said it looked too much like a wedding gown, but some of the best looks on red carpets were initially intended to be wedding gowns. I honestly can’t wait for the rest of this season of Scandal not just to see what happens, but also to see all of her fashion.

I am a huge Game of Thrones fan. I personally binged watched the first 3 seasons on my own when I first moved to New York. I will say this to all of you because I wish someone said it to me. DO NOT WATCH THE RED WEDDING ALONE AT NIGHT TIME! Anyways Sophie Turner who plays Sansa and also is rumored to be dating Joe Jonas stunned in a custom Louis Vuitton dress. It reminded of Jennifer Lawrence years ago in her red number during award season. She looked elegant and really stood out from the crowd.

Do you all agree with my top 3 favorite looks from last night? Comment below and let me know who your favorite looks were. Look forward to reading them <3

Tribal Sweater

January 23, 2017

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a great day so far. This winter I have seen a lot of different trends when it came to sweater patterns, but the one that I am currently loving is the tribal patterns. I got this amazing cashmere sweater from 360cashmere from the Rocky Barnes collection. It is currently no longer available however, there are still some amazing pieces left from the Rocky Barnes collaboration. When looking for a tribal sweater I suggest to try and go with max 3 colors for the pattern part as this sweater is black, white, beige and the actual sweater is grey. The point of tribal patterns is its suppose to be different, but you don’t want it to be too busy that it is almost distracting. Personally all my closet is either black, white or neutral colors this worked perfectly with my wardrobe. This is also why I loved this tribal sweater. If I had purchased one that was colors that I normally wouldn’t wear and too many of them I know that I would probably wear it once then it would sit in the back of my closet the rest of the season. If you aren’t sure if this trend is for you I suggest going to some of the fast fashion retailers and testing out the waters on what you like and don’t like. Check out 360cashmere’s website now for some great items that they just added to their sale lounge. If you use the code take40 you receive an additional 40% off the sale lounge items! Now if that isn’t a great savings I don’t know what is! Happy Shopping <3

January 16, 2017

Happy Monday! Hope everyone is having a great day and for most of you who have the day off I hope you are enjoying a long relaxing weekend. There are so many great sales going on today that I wanted to share with all of you. ASOS is currently having a save and spend event on their site where you can save up to $75 on your purchases. If you spend $150 use code DROP30 to receive $30 off. If you spend $200 then use code DROP50 to receive $50 off then if you spend $250 or more use the code DROP75 to receive $75 off your purchase. If you loved these floral booties I have pictured today go on over there and snag yourself a similar pair. At Neiman Marcus there is an additional 20% off the sale merchandise! Now some of the merchandise will say final sale, but when you can save up to 75% on something it is totally worth it! If you are shopping online for Forever21 take an extra 30% off sale items using the code EXTRA30 when you are checking out. Now the big one is Barneys Warehouse which is having an extra 75% off their sales items!!! Now if that isn’t a sale I don’t know what is! There are plenty of sales going on today in store and online, but personally I am going to stick to online because it is easier and more likely to have your size. If you are in the store and they don’t have your size ask the sales associate to check if it’s online or in another store. It’s worth asking because a lot of times they will have it for you and will ship it to you for free. Who doesn’t love a good free shipping? I hope everyone has a great Monday <3

Award Season – Golden Globes Favorites

January 9, 2017

Happy Monday Everyone!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend and for those of you living in New York City I hope you all survived the snow storm! There is still so much snow on the ground and my puppy Stella is not happy about it at all. Last night was the start of award season for me that is because even if there were award shows before last night this is the first one that everyone I know watches in the United States. Now I was always told by others that if you are nominated for an award for the show you are attending that designers are more likely to flock to you. Not saying that if you aren’t nominated designers won’t come to you, but if you are then you really have your pick of gowns. I also always believed that if you are nominated for an award for that specific show that means you need to be dressed to perfection. There should be no hair out of place and your outfit should fit you like a glove. Every award show my mom and I no matter where we are during commercial breaks we discuss the outfits that we see and this year like most we agreed on almost every look we loved. Here are my top 4 favorite looks from last night.

Kristen Bell in Jenny Packham. I love that the dress is all over sequins and you can tell that she made sure that this dress wasn’t going anywhere. Fashion tape is a girl’s best friend! I know since I wore a very deep V sequin dress to my best friends wedding that if you are wearing a low cut dress that all you need are a pair of statement earrings. No need to add a necklace on top of it.

Now Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were #couplegoals and even though he was the one nominated for his role as Deadpool she stunned in Atelier Versace. I mean the deep V the sequin pockets the green diamond bracelets I could go on and on about her look. I love how she kept the hair and makeup simple and let the dress do the talking.

Again Versace was all over the red carpet and I must say bravo! Reese Witherspoon stunned in this yellow Versace gown and I can’t stop looking at her. Normally I wouldn’t be a fan of a yellow dress, but each year some celebrity proves me wrong and shows me that yellow in a dress is amazing! With the simple hairstyle and just a statement necklace and the slit in the front she truly looked beautiful.

The true winner of the night was the movie La La Land and Emma Stone truly looked like a star. This Valentino dress is absolutely stunning on her! I love how it is light pink in color and not an off white or a true white. I personally didn’t notice until she was doing red carpet interviews that her dress actually had stars in it. Honestly the girl can do no wrong in my book. Did anyone else notice Andrew Garfield standing up clapping the entire time after they announced she won? #friendlyexs
Who were some of your favorites from the golden globes last night? Comment on today’s post and let me know what you think! Hope everyone has a great Monday and for those of you in New York City stay warm! <3

Velvet Jeans

December 19, 2016

Happy Monday Everyone! It is the final stretch until Christmas and Chanukah and I personally can not wait to make latkes and eat holiday cookies all week long! Now one of the biggest trends this season was velvet. As a kid I loved the feel of velvet I would always tell my parents that I was petting the velvet item and making nice with it. This season I wanted to find a great pair of Velvet black jeans. I tried on so many pairs and I just couldn’t find one that fit. It was crazy to me because I would try on brands that I knew my size in from previous purchases, but because it was a different material the jeans didn’t fit the same. At one point for one of the brands I tried on a double zero 00 and it still didn’t fit me! I started to become concerned, but finally I found a pair that fit me like a glove. These pair from J Brand are honestly the most comfortable pair of velvet pants. All the other velvet pants felt more like a jegging and just looked slouchy when I tried them on. These fit like a tight fitted jegging in the sense that they aren’t as firm as a jean, but they aren’t as loose as a jegging would get after a few wears. I also love the fact that they are mid rise on the waist because as we all have seen these past few months I am addicted to anything mid rise or high waisted. I will say this that if you are looking for a velvet pant go into the store and try on a few different brands. Don’t just buy online based upon your size. In my other J Brand jeans I was a size larger than I am in these velvet ones. If you are stuck on where to look my suggestion is go to your local Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. Especially right now before the Christmas and Channukah a lot of the stores will be having huge sales and if for some odd reason they do not have your size in the store ask if they can order it for you to be shipped to your home. More likely than not they will give you complimentary expedited shipping. Happy shopping everyone and I hope you all get all of your holiday shopping done soon! <3

This pair of velvet pants is on sale right now at Bloomingdales click this link now to buy Bloomingdales J Brand

The Tall Ugg Boot

December 12, 2016

Happy Monday! Well it’s finally time to break out those winter boots from your closet. Now even though some of us won’t admit it but we all have more than one pair of Ugg boots in our closet. Even growing up in Miami I had a few too many pairs, but now living in New York City you need them! Especially for this cold weather that we are having. This winter if you haven’t purchased a new pair of Uggs recently I think it’s time for you to go out and get a fresh pair. These tall Ugg boots are knee high and like all my other pairs of Uggs are so warm and cozy. These are great with a pair of leggings or skinny jeans. I like how they fit around my leg almost like they are a glove to them. I know sometimes at least for me after some wear the Ugg boots don’t fit as snug around your leg, but these I have had for over a year and they still fit just as snug as the first day I wore them. Don’t forget as with all Uggs except the new weatherproof pair they have come out with they do need to be weather proofed with the Ugg boot spray. I know some people don’t see the need in buying the spray, but I am here to tell you that is well worth your money. You will be wearing these boots all winter long and you want to make sure they stay in great shape.  Unlike the traditional Uggs these pair have a stitched in design which for me I think personally makes my legs look longer than they actually are. These boots are currently on sale on the Ugg website and you should grab a pair before they are gone! I personally have them in both black and brown and you all should too <3
