2-5-18: Winter White

February 5, 2018

Happy Monday! Hope everyone is recovering from Superbowl Sunday yesterday and that amazing win by the Philadelphia Eagles. Even though my beloved Miami Dolphins weren’t there I keep telling myself that there is always next year. Last week we found out that we are going to have 6 more weeks of winter…JOY! Just because it is winter and cold out doesn’t mean you can’t wear white. There is always a way to make winter white fun! Like this bell sleeved top I got back on September from Banana Republic. It makes a simple white long sleeve top have a little bit more of an edge to it. Don’t you think? Pair it with a fun jacket to keep you warm.

Every night that I go out I ask myself the same question. Tonight do I want to be warm and comfy or do I want to look cute? Sometimes you can do both! Sadly the top that I am wearing in this picture is sold out but Banana Republic has some other great options for you to choose from.

Just remember if you don’t want to have your sleeves get bunched up when putting on your jacket you should  hold in your hand the bell sleeve in one bunch when putting on your jacket. Otherwise your sleeve will bunch up in your jacket. Trust me this has happened to me too many times that I care not to admit. Hope everyone has a great Monday! <3

Steals & Deals: Express Bodysuit

August 14, 2017

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend and are gearing up for the week ahead. I still can’t believe that summer is almost over! Personally I am not ready for the cold weather, but I am trying to savor every moment of the summer I can before it’s over. Now I have expressed my love for bodysuits before and I am here to share with you one of my favorite finds for a special Steals & Deals. Now if you are going to wear a bodysuit I believe it shouldn’t be a full bottom. I don’t want to feel like I am wearing a full piece bathing suit as clothes and I know none of you do either. I have always had a love hate relationship with Express throughout the years, but recently I have loved a lot of their pieces. This off the shoulder ruffle thong bodysuit is something that you all need to have in your closets. First off the off the shoulder trend is something that we have been seeing for over a year now and it doesn’t seem to be going away. Secondly this bodysuit can be worn a multitude of ways. It can be worn as a one shoulder top or even as a strapless top! I have tried it and it works! It is available on Express’ website in 5 colors for only $39.90. Now normally when you see bodysuits like this at such a low price they tend to feel cheap and aren’t as comfortable as what you would like. I am here to say that this bodysuit despite it being off the shoulder which requires me to wear a strapless bra is the most comfortable bodysuit. I had to read the label after putting it on because it is so soft that you would think it was made out of 100% cotton. I personally ordered a size small and it fits perfectly! Click here to head on over to Express website to snag one up before they are all gone. Hope you all have a great day and like me are tuning into Bachelor in Paradise tonight!

How To Add Color To Any Outfit

June 22, 2017

It’s Thursday and that means its one more day until the weekend!!! Now I have said this before, but I will say it again the majority of my closet is black with a little white and very few items of color. However, when it comes to handbags that isn’t the case. A few years ago Gilt was having a major sale exclusive for their app users for brand new Balenciaga bags! Yes you heard that right brand new Balenciaga bags not pre owned. Now it is more common for these flash sale sites to have brand new designer bags at a fraction of the cost but even two years ago that wasn’t the case.

I knew that I wanted to get a red bag to add to my collection. My Mom always told me that if I was going to buy a colored bag to make it red because her Mom always told her that it was for good luck. If you are going to get any bag for a pop color even if you don’t think it will bring you luck I suggest a red bag. My only suggestion is to make sure not to wear a bag like this when their is the potential of bad weather. The worst thing that can happen to you is if your red bag bleeds onto your clothes. That has happened to me way too a few too many times that I don’t want to admit. I think Stella agrees with me on this that this red Balenciaga purse is the way to go. Check out all these flash sales sites in the next month for all the amazing deals and styles that you may not see in stores of all these amazing designer brands.

If you don’t already please follow my sweet puppy stella on instagram @HowStellaGotHerWoofBack <3

Throwback Thursday – Overalls

June 8, 2017

Today I thought I would bring back an outfit that I probably wore on repeat in 4th grade any chance I could. What outfit am I talking about? Overalls! I had my favorite pair of denim overalls that I wore at least once a week to school maybe even more my entire 4th grade year. I still remember my Dad trying to get me to buy a different pair of overalls so I could switch it up and I wouldn’t budge. Finally once they got a hole in them it was time to say goodbye. Recently I have been spotting the trend everywhere from H&M all the way to Bloomingdales. One of my favorite bloggers is WeWoreWhat and when I heard she had created a line of overalls I was desperate to get my hands on a pair of them. I luckily was able to snag two pairs of her coveted Second Skin Overalls including this pair that I am wearing. These are her high waisted black skinny overalls and I am OBSESSED!!! They are so comfortable and fit so well that I don’t want to take them off. Being that I am only 5’2 1/2 (yes that 1/2 of an inch is very important) I always struggle to find things that fit me properly. I always seem to have to take any pair of jeans or jumpsuits to the tailor, but for the first time in a long time I didn’t have to. These overalls fit me perfectly without any need to take them in to a professional. I personally never realized how versatile overalls truly were until now. You can wear these overalls with sneakers, slides, flats, booties, heels or even sandals. The tricky part is finding the proper top to go underneath. For me I have worn body suits under it, off the shoulder tops, crop tops and also tight tanks that tuck in on the sides. The tank that I am wearing is a looser fitting tank from GAP and it is tight on top, but not as tight as a form fitting tank. If you are purchasing from Second Skin Overalls I suggest ordering two sizes. In one of the overalls from a previous collection I was a size XS, but for these I wore a size small. If you are concerned with the $ of these overalls I am here to tell you that it is worth every penny, but if you aren’t sure if you will wear them often check out stores like Forever 21 and H&M for less expensive options. Hope everyone has a great Thursday and is ready for the weekend! <3

The Quilted Handbag

January 26, 2017

Happy Thursday! Back in college the one thing that every girl wanted a Chanel quilted bag, but my mom wasn’t going to send me to college with such an expensive bag that I would potentially ruin on a night out. Instead she found something that had the same look, but more than half the cost. This Rebecca Minkoff quilted affair bag is one of my go to bags on days when it is so gross outside especially in New York City now with all of this rain that we have been having. This specific version is no longer sold in stores anymore, however they do have a smaller version on the Bloomingdales website. I have personally worn my bag during some major snow storms and some pretty terrible rain and it has held up through it all. If you are looking for a great going out bag that has the look of a classic Chanel bag Rebecca Minkoff is the place to go. All of their bags are so classic and are amazing quality. I have truly seen a great change in her designs and work in the past 5 years and I am an avid customer. When I couldn’t find this bag back in college my mom was able to find it thanks to Zappos. If you are having trouble finding any bag that seems to be sold out everywhere online check Zappos website. More than likely they have the bag or at least that is what has happened to me in the past. I paired my bag with a simple pair of black jeans and a chambray top with black loafers for an easy casual going out look. You can also pair this bag with great booties and a dress or even heels for a night out on the town. Check out Rebecca Minkoff’s website for some of their amazing bags! <3

T-Shirt Lace Bra

December 18, 2016

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is having a great weekend and surviving this polar vortex that we are having in the northeast. I know yesterday I stayed inside with my sweet puppy stella who experience snow for the first time and proceeded to try and eat it. Even though it is freezing outside there are still times that I wear some open back tops, but my problem that I have always had with this is that I didn’t want to have to wear a bandeau top. Since I do have a larger chest I don’t wear them as often as maybe other people do so I tried to find an alternative. I wanted a bra that was full coverage, but with a hint of sexyness as well. I also didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for a bra just because it had lace in it. I used to wear the Calvin Klein T-shirt bra, but when they discontinued it I was stumped.  This amazing t-shirt bra from the Gap is now my everyday bra. Even with the lace detailing I still wear it every single day. It is the most comfortable bra I have ever owned! Currently right now it is on sale for $22.90 and if you keep your eyes peeled to their site I recently purchased it on sale where the second bra was 50% and I got free shipping. I love the fact that there is also lace detailing in the front of the bra as well. It comes in a variety of colors, but if you have never tried on a Gap body bra I suggest you go to your local store and try on a few sizes. They may not have in stock what you want, but at least you will be able to try it on and see if this bra is the right fit for you. Check out their variety of Gap Body bras on their website now for other options. Stay warm everybody! <3
