Happy Monday! Hope everyone is recovering from Superbowl Sunday yesterday and that amazing win by the Philadelphia Eagles. Even though my beloved Miami Dolphins weren’t there I keep telling myself that there is always next year. Last week we found out that we are going to have 6 more weeks of winter…JOY! Just because it is winter and cold out doesn’t mean you can’t wear white. There is always a way to make winter white fun! Like this bell sleeved top I got back on September from Banana Republic. It makes a simple white long sleeve top have a little bit more of an edge to it. Don’t you think? Pair it with a fun jacket to keep you warm.

Every night that I go out I ask myself the same question. Tonight do I want to be warm and comfy or do I want to look cute? Sometimes you can do both! Sadly the top that I am wearing in this picture is sold out but Banana Republic has some other great options for you to choose from.

Just remember if you don’t want to have your sleeves get bunched up when putting on your jacket you should hold in your hand the bell sleeve in one bunch when putting on your jacket. Otherwise your sleeve will bunch up in your jacket. Trust me this has happened to me too many times that I care not to admit. Hope everyone has a great Monday! <3

March Madness Gear

Hey guys! Today is the day the day of “The Big Dance” as my dad used to call it. I am talking about March Madness!!! Growing up I played basketball until I was 16 years old and it is my favorite sport to watch. Whether is be college or professional I enjoy watching the game, but being a girl and going to games when I was younger there was always a lack of female gear for sports teams. Thankfully in the past decade designers and teams have realized this as well and have come up with appropriate gear for all genders. I personally don’t wear items that are too girly with all the glitter and bedazzled gems I just simply dress for comfort. I am not one of those girls you see at sporting events that walk in with high heels on and look like they are going to go out to a club afterwards. I always stick to my basics. I wear a shirt that is either my teams colors or a team shirt like this University of Arizona vintage t-shirt. I then pair it with either a pair of leggings or comfortable jeans like these Frame Denim ones. Then depending on the weather and where I am that will determine my shoe choice. Since I am in New York City for tonight’s game where University of Arizona will play North Dakota I will be wearing these short brown booties from Vince Camuto that I got the year I moved to New York City. I am only wearing these booties because I don’t plan on walking very far to watch the game, but if plans change then I will opt to wear knee high boots in order to deal with the snow that is still piled up on the sidewalks right now. The knee high boots that I always love to wear are from Steve Madden. Every time I wear them I am always asked who makes them and people are shocked that they are Steve Madden. They make similar pairs still to this day, but they were a still back in 2011 for only a mere $100. Hope everyone has their brackets ready because March Madness is finally here. Oh and one more thing #BEARDOWN!

Valentine’s Day Date Night Look

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I know normally it is Fitness Tuesday here on Just Jodi Style, but today I will be making an exception. With tonight being Valentine’s Day I know some of you will probably wait until the weekend to celebrate with work and everything, but for those of you who are going out tonight I wanted to share with you my perfect Valentine’s date night look. I know that everyone feels like they need to wear something red or pink or colorful because it’s a holiday. I am here to tell you that you don’t need to do that. I always wear something that I feel the most comfortable in and what makes me feel sexy. This look is a simple grey top i purchased from Vince back in college and is flowy which is great especially if you are going somewhere that is a pre fix menu with multiple courses so your stomach can breathe :-). I spiced up the outfit with a sparkly shoe and earring just to give it a little something. For those of us living in the cold weather just throw on a great coat that has a little faux or real fur to keep you warm through the night. This jacket from Annabelle New York is quickly becoming one of my favorites this season. You don’t need much when you are going out with someone or people that you love. The most important thing is to make sure that you feel good about yourself and what you are wearing. I hope everyone has a great holiday today and for those of you who don’t have a special someone it is okay! I personally treated myself and saw 50 Shades Darker at Ipic and had a few glasses of wine and there is nothing wrong with that <3.

Steals & Deals – Faux Suede Bodysuit

Happy Friday!!! Today is the last Friday before Christmas and Channukah and I hope everyone has found their perfect gifts for the special people in their lives. If you are still looking for a great outfit to wear for the upcoming holiday parties and for New Years Eve look no further than this Steals & Deals. As you all already can guess from previous posts I love bodysuits. They are so easy to wear and just make an outfit simple and easy. I found this amazing faux suede bodysuit from Charlotte Russe and it is only $15!!! They used to have it in this light purple grey color like the one I am wearing, but now they only have it in a burgundy color. I am very tempted to buy it in this color as well because it just fits so well! The burgundy is also a great color for holiday time because it isn’t a true red, but still festive. This bodysuit is great to pair with a pair of mid rise or high waisted jeans with or without a belt or you can even pair it with a skirt. I hate having to tuck in a shirt when I wear pants, shorts or a skirt because it always seems to bunch up around my waist and just not lay correctly. This bodysuit fits like a glove! If you are concerned about how low cut it is and not revealing too much my suggestion is to use fashion tape. When I wore this out the first time I used fashion tape. Since the straps aren’t adjustable and I did not have time to go and get it altered I used fashion tape by the chest area and it worked perfectly! The top did not move out of place the entire evening that I wore it. Most pharmacy in the beauty section carry fashion tape, but if you can’t find it they also have it on Amazon Prime. Pair it with a simple necklace like the one I have on and you are all set. Hope everyone who is traveling this holiday weekend travels safe and gets everything that they want and more. <3

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is having a great weekend and surviving this polar vortex that we are having in the northeast. I know yesterday I stayed inside with my sweet puppy stella who experience snow for the first time and proceeded to try and eat it. Even though it is freezing outside there are still times that I wear some open back tops, but my problem that I have always had with this is that I didn’t want to have to wear a bandeau top. Since I do have a larger chest I don’t wear them as often as maybe other people do so I tried to find an alternative. I wanted a bra that was full coverage, but with a hint of sexyness as well. I also didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for a bra just because it had lace in it. I used to wear the Calvin Klein T-shirt bra, but when they discontinued it I was stumped. This amazing t-shirt bra from the Gap is now my everyday bra. Even with the lace detailing I still wear it every single day. It is the most comfortable bra I have ever owned! Currently right now it is on sale for $22.90 and if you keep your eyes peeled to their site I recently purchased it on sale where the second bra was 50% and I got free shipping. I love the fact that there is also lace detailing in the front of the bra as well. It comes in a variety of colors, but if you have never tried on a Gap body bra I suggest you go to your local store and try on a few sizes. They may not have in stock what you want, but at least you will be able to try it on and see if this bra is the right fit for you. Fitness Tuesday in honor of Stella’s Birthday!!

Happy Fitness Tuesday! Today is a very special day for me because it my sweet puppy Stella’s first birthday!! It is crazy to me to think that a year ago on my birthday I put down a deposit for her and now she is already a year old. So today in honor of her birthday I want to talk about fitness with your animal. Now I love to give Stella treats and of course she loves them too, but we also want our pets to be healthy and have tons of energy. I have noticed that for her even after a two hour walk she still is full of energy, but then eventually sleeps. I personally do not go running with Stella everyday, but I have been taking her for casual jogs in Central Park at least once a week since. Thankfully (knock on wood) it hasn’t snowed yet so I am taking full advantage of it. If you are fortunate enough to have a pool anywhere near you and for us New Yorkers an indoor pool take your dog for an occasional swim. All of my family pets have all loved to swim not just because we were in Miami, but because it is great exercise for them. Even though I have seen videos of it and I find it entertaining I have heard that putting a dog on a treadmill isn’t the best idea especially if you turn up the speed on it. Just like Taylor Swift did in the Apple commercial a dog can seriously hurt themselves and fall down. Hope you all have a great Tuesday and again Happy Birthday to my sweet puppy Stella! My Go To Winter Bag – LV

Happy Thursday and happy first day of December! It’s crazy how much time has flown by and we are almost in 2017! So you all still have some time to think of your New Year’s resolutions, but until then let’s end 2016 with a bang! One of the things that I noticed when moving to New York City is that especially with the snow and rain and all the different weather climates you need a bag that is weatherproof for all of them. Especially a bag that if you need something while it is snowing outside you don’t have to dig around inside to find what you are looking for. I got this bag a few years ago from Louis Vuitton and since then they have revamped it a little to include different colors and handles to match the color inside. The Pallas bag also now comes in a smaller version as well. This bag comes with the general shoulder strap if you don’t want to wear with just the normal handles. Louis Vuitton is also offering for purchase a longer strap if you want to wear the bag cross body or just other different shoulder straps for all of their bags in the store. This allows you to change up your normal bag that you may have had for years with a new accessory to it. I personally love this bag because first off it has a zipper on top, but the side pockets are easily accessible especially when it is snowing heavily outside and need to get something fast. This is my go to bag for everyday during the winter and even the smaller version of this bag is a great size for everyday wear this winter. White Body-Suit: Wolford

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone had a great weekend and is gearing up for Thanksgiving this week! Crazy how the year has truly flown by. One of the biggest trends that I have seen come to fruition the past 3 years, are bodysuits. If you ask my mom she will say she has been wearing bodysuits for years and even got me one while I was in college and I rarely wore it, but now I wear it all the time! There are so many different tops especially during winter that I need to wear a solid tank underneath, but a tank top just doesn’t lay right under some of them and even when you do tuck it into your pants if you are wearing leggings, that isn’t an option, and if you are wearing jeans you still see the shirt and it gives an awkward feeling when you are wearing them. The solution is bodysuits, but for me I prefer the string bodysuits vs the ones that are full coverage. The reason again I say this is because no women wants to have panty lines, but also you don’t want to feel like you are wearing a leotard even more so than you are by wearing a bodysuit. I have also noticed that most of the full coverage bodysuits do not have a snap closure at the bottom so if you are out and need to use the restroom then that is going to be a bit of a project for you. Dark Denim- Frame

Happy Saturday! These past few months I have had to get all new jeans because of me working out a lot more, but it hasn’t been that easy finding the perfect pair of dark denim. For months I searched and I couldn’t find a pair that i was absolutely in love with. There is always an issue with the pairs that I was finding. When it came to fit it was difficult because I am still working out a lot so I wanted a pair that wouldn’t be too big in the next coming months. Then there was the problem with the color. It was either so dark that it almost looked like black, too dark that it almost didn’t look like jeans or it was lighter in certain parts so it didn’t really look like dark denim. I found a few pairs that were almost leggings, but for winter in New York that was not going to work. Finally I found them! These pair of Frame Denim Le High Skinny jeans in a dark denim wash are unbelievable. They are are a great wash of dark denim, but like any dark denim be careful the first few times you wear it. They tend to bleed off onto your clothes without you even noticing it. I have washed these jeans now only once, but when I washed them I made sure that they were washed alone. The worst mistake for washing brand new jeans is to wash them with other clothes and to also put them automatically into the dryer.I would not do that if you don’t want them to shrink. If you do get any of the dye from your new dark denim on any of your clothes I have learned to soak them in a bowl of cold water with salt for an hour then switch out the water and do it all over again until the dye has mostly come out. Make sure that you wring out your item of clothing after each time you change the water.
