The Best Wedding Date – Your Choos <3

Happy Thursday everyone! Recently I have been attending / invited to my fair share of weddings and one of the major things that can make or break your outfit is your shoes. Not only are you going to be standing around sometimes even on grass, but also you will be dancing the night away with all of your friends. Something that my mother said to me when I was looking for shoes recently was to find one with a little bit of a platform. Why a platform? When a heel like these black patent leather Jimmy Choos, a platform allows your foot to be so arched. As my mom likes to tell me it also is to not make you feel like you are walking on stilts. A lot of the platform patent shoes that I saw in stores I wasn’t a fan of for the fact that I felt that the platform was too noticeable to the naked eye. I like these shoes because the platform is seamlessly hidden at a quick glance. Again with these shoes I did my little trick to break them in. One day I wore socks and walked around with them for a few hours and sat with them as well and then the next day without socks. This way my feet got used to not only standing in heels but walking around in them comfortably. When buying wedding shoes my other suggestion is to not just buy shoes that match the color of your dress. Buy shoes that you can wear with multiple dresses so you A. don’t have more shoes in your close than you need and B. hopefully by the end of wedding season as some people like to call it your shoes will be so broken in that you can keep them on for an entire evening without any blisters or anything! The Wristlet Is Back!

Happy Monday! It being the start of the week I wanted to throw it back today to a trend that we all know too well. When I was 13 the purse that everyone in my grade had was a wristlet. It wasn’t too big and it was just big enough that whenever any of my friends and I were going to a party we were able to fit our lip glosses and cellphones inside. Now the wristlet is back in style and a lot of different designers are bringing back this trend, but putting their own spin on it. Now back in the day the wristlets I always saw were just a smaller version of a purse and not really structured or anything of that sort. This Louis Vuitton wristlet is now my go to bag when I am not in the mood to carry a purse on my shoulder. Surprisingly I am able to fit a lot into this bag with it still laying seemingly flat. Inside there is even a divider and slots in the back to put your credit cards in. For me that was a major selling point because it is hard enough to fit all of your must haves into a smaller bag, but when a bag makes it easier for you to carry all the things you want and more that is huge. My suggestion if you are looking for a wristlet is buy one that is neutral in colors. This Louis Vuitton one I can wear with almost everything and if it came in black I would probably buy it as well. Also as i just previously said that the major selling point for this bag for me was the card slots is to make sure that you can fit your 3 major necessities when you go out. Those three things are your cell phone, wallet and your keys. I personally have a Iphone 6s Plus and finding a bag that fits that big phone is hard to find, but this one does it easily. No Scarf? No Problem! Donni Thermal Gigi

Happy Sunday Everyone! Today it is absolutely gorgeous out in NYC. This past week it has slowly been getting colder and finally starting to feel like fall. However, there are still days like today where I walk outside and I can’t decide if I want to wear a scarf or not. One of the major trends that Kendall Jenner has been rocking a lot recently are the neck scarves. One of my favorite scarves from Donni Charm was their the Donni Thermal from a few seasons ago. It looks like a waffle material, but it is so soft you can live in it. When I saw they were making the thermal in the smaller Gigi neck scarf cut I knew I had to buy every color they made. The Thermal Gigi is light and comfortable and being 100% cotton it is the perfect addition to any outfit this fall. Especially when you don’t want to wear a scarf or you just don’t want to have to carry it with you when you are out and about. I personally wear the Thermal Gigi instead of even a necklace sometimes because when I am wearing it out it as if I already have a necklace on. Don’t think that because it is a neck scarf means that it can only be worn one way. You can also wear it where it is just simply laying on your neck and tied once in the front or even in your hair as a headband. There are so many different ways to wear it and use this item. All Red Everything

For anyone that knows me, my closet usually consists of black, white and beige. I am not one of those people that likes to wear a lot of color, but I am trying to step out of my comfort zone and wear things that normally I wouldn’t wear. One day while going through Gilt I saw that one of the brands listed was Black Halo and I only knew about them because I had just purchased a dress from them for my best friend’s sister’s wedding in Florida. When you look at this outfit at first glance you think it’s a dress right? Well you would be incorrect because it is a skirt and a crop top, but they are sold together as an outfit! I love the fact that it is two pieces because if I wanted to wear them separately and mix and match them with something else I can. At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about the length of the skirt, but they have this outfit now with a shorter skirt option if you don’t like the length of it. One of the other major things that made me fall in love with this outfit was the fact that the skirt has pockets. I don’t know why, but you can ask any girl if a dress / skirt has pockets it’s a game changer. Black Halo’s outfits even when not on Gilt are fairly priced and are very comfortable and easy to wear for any occasion. As I previously said, I normally don’t wear color, but this shade of red on me, even when I am not tan and am pale, didn’t look bad on my skin tone. Some reds are a lot brighter than this one it’s just the matter of finding the right shade of a color that works best for you. Happy Columbus Day! Vacation Sandals

Now that Hurricane Matthew has finally passed it is finally sunny outside in Miami. For everyone that is away and it warm weather the greatest thing to have for any vacation is a comfortable pair of cute sandals. For years I had been searching for a great pair of white gladiator sandals, but I never could find a pair that fit with what I was looking for. I wanted a pair that was first and foremost comfortable because who wants to wear a pair of sandals that every single time you dread putting them on in fear that you will be getting a blister from them? These white sandals from Louis Vuitton I was concerned, about at first, that I would get blisters all the time because of the material of the white straps. Just like how when I was breaking in my Gianvito Rossi heels for the first time, I wore these shoes around my apartment with a pair of KB socks to just see if the straps rubbed my feet weird in certain spots. The spots that I was concerned about, I put on the small version of the blister band aids that usually are meant to just wrap around your toes on those trouble spots and it really made a difference. I did that for the first few times I wore these shoes and now I don’t need to wear the blister band aids at all. I think it helped, most importantly, to break in the shoes, but also made the areas that may have felt a little rough on my feet soften up so now when I wear them I never get a blister. If you are in the market for white sandals that you can wear all next summer this is the time to do it! A lot of these shoes are now on sale and you can buy them now break them in and then store them until summer 2017.

Sunday Best – Cocktail Wedding

Happy Sunday Everyone! We are now gearing towards fall weddings, but one of the hardest things that I have found for me to shop for is that cocktail wedding. The reason I feel it is difficult for me is because it isn’t always the case now that everyone is required to wear short dresses to a cocktail wedding. I have also always been under the impression that if there is any hint of white in your dress that you can not wear it to a wedding, but that isn’t necessarily true. This beautiful white with black lace detailing Alice and Olivia dress if perfect for any cocktail wedding and is also appropriate to wear even though it technically is a white dress. I wore this dress to a wedding a year ago in California and it was absolutely perfect! I also plan on wearing it to an upcoming wedding this February in Arizona :-). Some people may think that this dress is only good for a summer wedding, but I disagree. I think that there is a common misconception for what to wear to summer and winter weddings. Yes, the light hues / colors are more for summer / spring weddings and the darker colors are for winter / fall, but a dress like this that is white and black together I think works for all year round. When purchasing a dress that has mostly white in it like this one, make sure that there is a pattern that is incorporated into it that isn’t white or nude. The last thing you want is to purchase a white dress with nude / beige pattern in it and then when you take pictures it looks like you are wearing a white dress. That happened to a friend of mine’s sister. She was a bridesmaid and the bride picked out dresses that are beautiful in person and are a nude color with beading, but when everyone was looking at pictures online the next day that they all took because of the lighting and flashes they all looked like they were wearing white dresses. The bride thankfully didn’t care or mind, but if you are one of those people that would have cared, make sure to take some pictures with a flash to make sure that this doesn’t happen to you. Saturday Night Vibes – Wallet On A Chain Purse

It’s Saturday night and you are about to go out with all of your friends and for us girls there is always the dilemma of what purse are you going to wear with your outfit. The reason why this is such a dilemma, at least for me, is because I don’t want to be carrying around a huge bag the entire night, but I also want to make sure that I have all of the necessities that I need for my night. Enter: the wallet on the chain purse. This bag is honestly the most amazing purse that I have ever purchased. It has closure that can only be opened when you press on the two silver buttons so you know it secured. I love the details on this bag and the pop of color of orange to offset the traditional Louis Vuitton pattern. When you open the bag, the purse part has slots for all of your credit cards and a pouch in the back for all your cash. It also has a zipper pouch in the front which I normally put my keys in so they don’t fly out when I open my bag. On top of that, it isn’t too long on me when I wear it just as a shoulder bag and not necessarily as a cross body bag. That is always my problem with being short; if I don’t wear bags like this cross body they will lay almost next to my knees, but not this one. When purchasing a wallet on a chain purse my biggest suggestion it to make sure that the bag is able to close fully. I have had too many friends who have gone out and they think that their wallet on the chain bags are closed and nothing is falling out to them coming home and noticing that either their phone is gone or someone stole it from their purse when they weren’t noticing. As my mom always says keep your whits about you and have fun, but also make sure that all of your things are secure.

Gianvito Rossi- Most comfortable shoe according to Eva Chen

The other day I came across an article from “Who What Wear” that quoted Eva Chen saying that Gianvito Rossi shoes are the most comfortable heels in existence. I then went into my closet and realized that one my favorite pair of shoes is by this designer and I couldn’t agree with Eva more! I wore these lace up black leather shoes to one of my best friends engagement parties last year and the moment I posted a picture of me wearing them on social media the attention I got was overwhelming. I wore them for over 4 hours that evening and at the end of the night I took them off without one single blister and my feet didn’t even feel swollen or anything. Normally when I buy a pair of new heels, especially ones I am going to wear for a special event, I try to break them in prior to that evening to avoid any problems with my feet afterwards. Unlike other shoes my normal techniques for these shoes didn’t work. Since they are lace up I couldn’t put on a pair of thick socks to break them in without potentially stretching them out. Instead I put on a very thin pair of KB socks from costco and wore them around my apartment the entire week prior. I know it may sound silly but even just sitting on my couch with them was helpful because my feet got used to the shoes and molded to my feet. I know what a lot of you are thinking “of course the most comfortable shoes are super expensive,” but my mom found these shoes on Neiman Marcus last call at the end of the season and they were a steal! High Waisted Denim: Nobody Denim

Since beginning my fitness journey I have noticed that normal jeans just don’t always fit me properly anymore, but I have discovered the solution… High Waisted jeans!! I found these jeans at Bloomingdale‘s by Nobody Denim and they are my new go to pair of jeans. I love how they are not only high waisted but they have rips in the knees and are also frayed at the bottom. I had never heard of this brand until recently and I now own 3 pairs of denim from them including a pair of army green denim shorts. The one thing I will say about owning high waisted denim is that if you are an hourglass shape like me that means you will need to go down a size than you normally would be in your jeans. However, for some people that isn’t the case! I suggest that everyone go to the store and try on a few pairs before making a purchase of high waisted denim. Some other denim designers that I have loved in my other jeans I didn’t necessarily love their cut in their high waisted pairs that they were showing. So even though you may be very brand loyal this is the chance to explore other brands like I did and you may find one that you love more than all of the ones you have been wearing. I was fortunate that when I purchased these jeans it was “buy more save more” at Bloomingdales so since I bought these jeans and the army green shorts they each turned out to be $68 marked down from over $250! With jeans like these you don’t always have to pair it with a short top. You can also pair it with a bodysuit underneath and a cool belt over even a flowy top. Even though I wear my high waisted denim often I don’t always highlight the fact that they are high waisted by having a top that shows that feature off. Sometimes they are just good for wearing with any outfit especially since they always seem to synch you in tighter ☺

The Strappy Sandal: Fendi

When looking for strappy sandals I have always had a tough time finding a pair in beige. These Fendi strappy sandals I bought back in college during a huge blowout sale at Saks Fifth Avenue and since then I haven’t found a pair like them. They are so comfortable that I have worn them for over 6 hours straight before and had not had one single blister or anything! The trick with strappy sandals is to make sure the straps aren’t rubbing up against the skin of your foot in places that could cause blisters or irritation. One thing I always do the first time I wear strappy sandals is put on blister band aids on my baby toes, just as a precaution. This is beneficial especially when you go out. Even though no one will say it your feet do sweat and that is the number one thing that can cause you to get blisters. Make sure though that after you wear your shoes that you clean out the inside of your shoe to make sure no moisture is left from your evening. If you are looking for a great pair of beige strappy sandals here are a few things I would look for: #1 color – you want to make sure the color is not too light of a beige but not too dark to be mistaken as brown #2 you want it to have a little bit of a platform in front, if it doesn’t then make sure that it has a good arch because if the heel height is too much then if it has no arch your feet will kill you by the end of the night and #3 invest in a pair that you can wear from season to season especially if you think you will wear them again.
